Students' Personal and Career Development Centre (SPCDC)The Students’ Personal and Career Development Centre has been set up by the institute to provide students, staff and faculty members with a forum for personal exploration, self awareness and professional growth through a range of psychological and psychotherapeutic services. It aims to help students develop effective skills for addressing life situations, engage in self exploration and awareness, and address concerns in specific areas such as academics, interpersonal relationships, identity issues and professional development. The services offered include individual, couple and small group counselling, and psychometric testing. Handling the academic rigour along with life stressors such as concerns around relationships, coping with loss, and financial and career aspirations, can get overwhelming. SPCDC encourages a proactive approach to self awareness and addressing of issues. You get to reflect upon various psychological issues of concern to you with the aid of an understanding, compassionate and skilled listener. Consultations are also offered for issues of a general psychological nature and may not necessarily lead to ongoing counselling. While counselling benefits most people, the process may sometimes evoke strong feelings and experiences. It is important to discuss with your counsellor any such experiences and seek more information regarding the counselling process. Sometimes your family members or partner may want to talk with the counsellor about situations that affect you. Involving significant people in your life in the counselling process is a constructive step. However, this will be done only with your explicit consent. Confidentiality Students with physical limitations may request for alternate arrangements at a more convenient location on campus. Cost Whom to contact |
